What we Do.

In 1992 an interested group of local citizens worked together to preserve a local historical homestead, the Bressette house and barn. This original settlement home was scheduled for demolition as a result of highway expansion. Together with the help of public and private funding and volunteer support, this group moved the house in 1993 to its present location on Lone Pine Road and then spent the next three years restoring it. As a result of its success, this group grew in numbers. Its members recognized the need for a local historical society and became incorporated in 1995 as The Georgian Bay Township Historical Society. It has become an important not- for- profit community organization addressing ongoing historical issues and objectives.

Anyone regardless of age, sex, creed or area of habitancy is elegible for membership in the Georgian Bay Township Historical Society.
